LLJ Researcher wins Poster Prize!

Abimbola Oladokun, a PhD student at the Dept of Mechanical Engineering at Leeds University who is being funded by LLJ has won 1st Prize for Best Poster Award at the 55th Corrosion Science Symposium held 29-30 September at The Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester. The poster entitled: “In-vitro studies of Fretting–Corrosion at the Modular THR Taper Junction: The Effect of Mixed Metal Couples” presents the influence of fretting regimes on the tribo-corrosion mechanisms of Cobalt Chromium and Titanium alloys used in Total Hip Replacement. The prize was awarded by Prof. Peter Andresen.
